My Little Pony Equestria Girls is an enlivened element film featuring characters looking like the primary cast of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic as adolescent human young ladies. Princess Twilight Sparkle's crown, the component of enchantment, is taken by Sunset Shimmer who vanishes into a mirror that leads into the human world. Without the crown, the various Elements of Harmony will have no capacity to secure Equestria, so Twilight and Spike experience the mirror to pursue the offender to recover her crown. They find themselves in another existence where Twilight is a teenaged human young lady and Spike is a talking canine, and they discover companions that look like their horse companions from Equestria. Nightfall works with her companions to become Princess of the Fall Formal to win her crown over from the human Sunset Shimmer and to "change the predetermination of these two equal universes." The film happens after the season three finale, around the Summertime shorts Make Up Shake Up, A Photo Booth Story, and Raise This Roof, and before the season four debut.
